Temple Kung Fu Master Robert Jones Promoted To 6th Degree Black Belt
Grand Master Simon founded Temple Kung Fu studios over forty years ago and has rarely promoted anyone beyond the Master Level. He came to North America from Germany in the early 1960s and made a name for himself in Martial Arts by demonstrating the art of Kung-Fu in the U.S. and in Canada. Grand Master Simon was the first in Canada to promote a woman to the level of Black Belt. He opened the first Temple Kung Fu Studio in Calgary, and it is still open today.Master Robert Jones, a long time student of Grand Master Simon was promoted to 6th degree Black Belt on July 28th at a ceremony in the Spokane location of Temple Kung Fu.
Temple Kung Fu has relocated from Seattle to Toronto. There have only
been a handful of people promoted to the Master Level at Temple Kung Fu in the forty years it has existed. Being promoted to this level is considered a great honor and Master Robert Jones has also been inducted into the U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame this year. He moved to the Seattle area to attend the University of Washington but decided to pursue a career in the Martial Arts instead. He began training at Temple Kung Fu studios over 15 years ago.
Having studied Japanese styles previously he was amazed at the Chinese temple kung-fu style. Impressed with the soft and the hard combination - he soon was a follower, seeing the benefits he received from training the art of Temple Kung Fu, he decided that he needed to share it and so he became an instructor and has since dedicated his life to teaching the art of Grand Master Simon.Temple Kung FuRobert Jones, Master24615 Pacific Hwy S #206Kent, Washington 98032253-941-8822http://www.templekungfu.come-mail protected from spam bots.
